New Smyrna Beach High School

I went to the old NSBHS and it was great. Now they have the kids answering the phones. Not sure about that. My son is going to this school and my stepson goes to Spruce Creek. It’s funny how Creek was the better school back in the day and now NSBHS is the better school. Although I am not to happy that my son lost his phone at the school and all they did was put out an email. Can you tell me that the rooms don’t get cleaned and no one bothers to look for the phone. The phone isn’t cheap and almost a required part of the school process. When did that happen?

The Auditorium is impressive, and is on par with other event venues such as Flagler Auditorium in Palm Coast. Watching high school band concerts here is always a good time.

My husband graduated from New Smyrna Beach high school in 2016 and was relocated from Florida to Arizona for his job (he's in the airforce). He has recently decided that he wants to begin working towards his bachelors degree in order to rank up to an officer and reached out to this school to send his transcripts. Not only do they NEVER answer any phone calls, they don't return calls when he leaves voicemails, and they aren't very helpful at all. There have been multiple occurrences where I had to spend all day on my days off calling over and over again just to see if someone would answer. Whenever I did get an answer, the receptionist lady was very rude and had an attitude that implied that I was being annoying. We have been trying to get these transcripts for over a month now and still can not get ahold of the school to see if they sent it. I am VERY disappointed with the service they have provided to my family and I am thankful that none of my children will have to go to this school. One star for them is very generous but there wasn't an option for no stars.

Very appalled in the lack of involvement the 9th grade guidance counselors have shown. How are these students suppose to succeed without the proper leadership? There is no communication between the counselor and parent. It is a disappointment that the 9th grade counselor has put in no effort or any time into my daughter.

My son went there.
