Such a beautiful, serene place! The parking lot is big enough - at least if you arrive early. The path is clean and in a great condition - even our granny with her walker didn't have any issues. I also like that everybody stuck to the rules and wore a mask all the time.

An interesting boardwalk circular style nature walk in a preserved wetlands in Delray Beach just off of Jog Rd and just south of the line with Boynton Beach. The circular walk is popular for those seeking pictures of birds of course but there is always the chance to see something more exciting like turtles, snakes or alligators. Taking the walk and taking some amateur pictures should take about 30 minutes to an hour depending on pace of the walk. The most visible bird here when I took the walk in March 2021 is the Wood Stork. They're very large impressive birds inhabiting entire trees. Truly a sight to behold.

This place is SO pretty! I have been to Green Cay, the other alligator place nearby. I didn't see an alligator yet at either of these places, but not giving up!! Compared to Green Cay, this place had SO many more birds and different types of birds. It was honestly so pretty and we went during sunrise and got so many beautiful pictures!!! Parking is free, as well as the actual place!

A gem of the county. Easily navigated boardwalks throughout the wetlands. Spring is extra special with many nesting tropical birds on each mangrove island. And plenty of gators waiting for an opportunity. Look for bunnies and snakes and hawks. Green Cay, a mile to the east is nice but Wakodahatchee is my favorite for the sheer number and variety of birds.

Wow and to think this is in Delray beach! This is truly a piece of the Everglades in a safe enjoyable and relaxing way! I saw some of the pictures posted and thought the storks were kind of a lucky encounter but you are literally guaranteed to see multiple storks. They made this little park their home and nesting place. I've never seen anything like it, you can be so close to them and see their nests and overall flocks. We saw 2 alligators as well and so many birds.nBasically expect a nicely maintained bridge like wooden pathway throughout the park. It is smaller but you'll see so much.nThe parking lot can get full but if so, it gets pretty organized with attendants letting you know when to go and wait. And since it doesn't take that long to walk through it, you won't wait that long to get in.nnAnd yes this is not a trick, this park and parking is completely FREE. No donation or anything required, just enjoy.nnCheck it out!
