Enjoyed hiking the trails and reading the historical markers. Unfortunately, the trails south of White Oak Road aren’t nearly as well-marked as the ones to the north of it. Visitor Center and parking lot was closed in late November even though the sign on the gate said it would only be closed starting Dec 1st until springtime.

Set in the battlegrounds of one of the last civil war encounters, hiking Five Forks provided both historic significance & great exercise. Using All Trails app, I was able to navigate the various interconnecting trails. The intersections are all signed & the trails are well blazed. Yellow is the longest loop. Red is less travelled and little sketchy at times. I really enjoyed walking on pine needles amidst the heavy wooded pines forest. It's an easy, hike made challenging by the 6.5 miles duration. It's worth the long drive to the battleground.

It was such a nice day we decided to drive down to Dinwiddie Co. to walk some of the Five Forks Battlefield trails. Who who would’ve expected to find rocks like this there. Even though the visitors center parking lot was closed the equestrian Trail parking lot was open which served our needs perfectlyufffc. When we got back we even found a Dinwiddie Co. sheriffs deputy protecting our carufffc.

Nice informative place to visit. Good descriptions of what occurred. The ranger was also very willing to answer any questions.
