The Salvation Army Gloucester Service center is a driving force of good in the community. They help countless individuals and families in both Gloucester and Mathews Counties. They are NOT A THRIFT STORE! Not sure what the other reviews are about, but, this particular Salvation Army strictly helps people with emergency assistance.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The store for the most part is clean. What drives me nuts is having to spend hours looking through the clothes for my size. They somehow think it's cute and decorative to out the clothes in color coordinated order. So the sizes are all random and you have to build a dust storm of lint before you find your size. Not smart , not helpful to the customer.

Salvation Army is a nice place that supports the military families that are in real need especially around the holidays and the people who work over there are really nice and friendly.

Terrible! I really regret donating to this horrible rude charity that can’t even show up on time for free stuff. Put it on Craigslist free! These fools called us at 730 in the morning to confirm that they were coming in the morning. 1230 and they still aren’t here. Call back the number and they insist that they wouldn’t have called that early. ???? Are you people mental? I’m calling back the number you called me on! They have no clue what’s going on. Have to call back and say he will be here in another half hour. Get it together! You’re getting free stuff to sell! Be gracious and be on time, you’re supposed to be a Christian charity!
