We enjoyed our visit to the Brownsburg Museum. Although small, it gives a wonderful glimpse into days of past. Apparently, this museum changes displays at least yearly. This season it is a recreated general store. We enjoyed reminiscing about products we used with our grandparents. Many memories were invoked. The wonderful volunteer was excited to tell us about the exhibit and answered all our questions. It wont take you long to see it, but it is very sweet. We visited on an Open House day for the North Rockbridge Trail, but there are other visiting hours and even private appointments available. Our volunteer guide was very covid proactive, and made us feel very comfortable.

Cute glimpse into early and pre-civil-war American culture, even when Virginia was frontier.

A great little museum which is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.nnI was in Virginia from the UK and by chance came across this museum. I am glad I did.nnBrownsburg is a charming little town and this museum is run by lovely local volunteers. The main room gives a real insight into the regional history of the area and during my visit there was also an incredibly interesting exhibit on milling and distilling in the area.nnAdmission is free so I would certainly recommend popping in, whether you have lived in the area all your life, or are only passing through.
