Fredericksburg is a wonderful historic town and I've lived in the area most of my life.. The history this place is good for children to learn.. you have no some of the friendliest people in my Virginia. The Churches are beautiful and there is no alot be of diversity. Tons of it awesome shopping and great bars and restaurants. Thousands of things to do you can go to the City Docks and meditate or fish or just sit still.
Free parking. Great prices for trains. Also great place to railfan. Not sure if you could park for over 2 days, but it is likely.
Decent station. Handicap accessible and there’s covering for weather, but no inside location and no bathrooms. The train is a great way to get up to DC and beyond. The nearest Parking lots require passes FYI. Use the VRE to commute to lower your carbon footprint and I’ll love you forever.
Avoid like the plague and do not trust the signs or announcements if you have to use this platform (it's not a real station; no staff, no bathrooms). You will probably miss your train because you will be directed to the wrong track and by the time you realize it, there will be no time to get to the right track. Amtrak will also make you pay the difference to change your ticket even though it wasn't your fault. I've been on a hundred trains in Europe and never once was directed to the wrong track or missed a train. It's completely unacceptable that Amtrak does not provide the correct information. Trains going south were on track 2 and trains going north were on track 3 in September 2020, but the electronic signs and audio announcements were not actually updated properly for half the Amtrak trains. You just have to watch for a train arriving and hope you can make it under the tracks and up again on the other side to ask where the train is going. No way anyone with mobility issues would be able to catch the train from here.
Great location, well kept, decent shelter, but very confusing for new folk as there is no one there and you hardly ever know where you’re suppose to go for your train ud83dude15
