Sullum's Bridals of Olyphant

Terrible customer service. I bought all my prom dresses at Sullum's. So years later when I was ready to look for my bridal dress I thought of Sullum's first. Wow has that place changed...and not for the better. I had a dress in mind I wanted to try on. I called because I knew they carried that designer. As a lady picked up the phone it sounded like I was disturbing her. I was put on hold for 10 min. When I gave the style number and designer I was told well yeah I guess we can get that in but there will be a fee. I was fine with the fee. I was supposed to receive a call back from Sullum's in a day or two to get it ordered. They took my number and it has been months with no call. My mother called a week later, as we thought maybe they were having a bad day... same thing. They lost my business of a bridal dress, 7 bridesmaid dresses, two flower girl dresses and a mother of the bride dress. I have heard stories of the same kind and I have told my story of the terrible service. It’s too bad what was once a good business now has a terrible reputation because of their poor service.

The only reason they get one star is because there is no option for less. The woman behind the messy counter was incredibly rude. She stated, with quite the air of arrogance, that they did not see people without an appointment, and couldn't be bothered to check to see if someone might be available in the near future. I posted to their facebook page how disappointed I was with their rudeness. Of course they replied arrogantly. I had to block them. I just don't need the negativity. EVERY other dress shop we went to was fabulous, saw us immediately and were incredibly pleasant at all times. Take your business to one of the other fabulous shops in the area. Only visit Sullum's for their out of business sale--coming soon!

We liked them. They were definitely good salespeople, but not too pushy. The place isn't exactly the most organized or well kept but the selection seemed much better than the rest. They were the third place we went and they helped us immediately and were very attentive, unlike the other two places in Scranton. We are a little worried about the rest of the process after reading these other reviews, so I guess we'll see what happens. We will update this review once the entire bridal gown shopping/fitting/altering process is complete. Hopefully those dressmakers in China know what they're doing, and hopefully Sullums puts the order in correctly.

I am only reviewing the customer aspect. Both on the phone and in person, the staff that I dealt with was rude and condescending, with an air of snobbishness. I have purchased two bridesmaids dresses here over the years; the first one about seven years ago. I was treated really then and apparently nothing has changed unfortunately.
