Big Al's Eatery

This place used to be called Vinnie’s, and now they are under new management. When it was called Vinnie’s, it was my favorite place to go to get a hoagie for the last 15 years or so. My first time going when it was under new management and now called big al’s, I thought it was still very good. I think it’s the same everything except the new boss. But then I went a second time about a month later and the two people working kind of disappointed me some. I asked for a hoagie with ham and bacon with a small order of fries. After the sandwich was made they told me they had no bacon. Now, maybe most people don’t care about that sort of thing, but I do, and if I had known they had no bacon, I would have gone somewhere else for the night. And now that the food was made, I felt it would have been a waste of food to not get it. The fries were half filled, but were made fresh. I was hoping they went big on the fries since they botched the sandwich, but they didn’t. Now, they could argue that I walked outside and so they couldn’t tell me they had no bacon, but if you knew the place, you’d understand that all they had to do was take 10 steps to the door and tell me, I was standing right outside waiting. So, I will go again, I can’t judge on one night with no bacon. Besides, 15 years of good food, and one not very good night shouldn’t push any costumer away.nnI don’t know how to respond to managements message to me, so I’m editing this some. Thank you for the fast response. I already assumed the bacon was taken off the Bill. If I knew they had taken the fries off the Bill I would have left feeling better about the matter, but they did not tell me, so thanks for informing me. I did not get a receipt, but I could have sworn they said my meal was $12 and change when I paid, so from the price, I thought the fries were charged. Maybe there is a confusion somewhere, you’d have to check on that. It’s possible she said $12 and change but charged me less. Putting the bacon situation aside, the sandwich was just as good as it always was, and I stopped at acme on my way home and cooked my own bacon, so everything worked out fine. I’m changing my review.
