A Longwood Christmas

The gardens are amazing any time if year but decorated for the holidays is even more special. Suggest going in the afternoon so you can experience the park as it gets dark. Do the conservatory first while there is still daytime left. Crowds have been significantly managed and the park is very clean and sanitized (even benches and handrails). You will need reservations and since it is quite popular, book early.

This was our first time experiencing Longwood Gardens at Christmastime and in the evening. The weather was fair and the sight of the decorated trees was beautiful! The aromas from the rich colored plants are stimulating. It evoked smiles and the feeling of happiness. People were enjoying the sights, engaging in small talk, taking photos and enjoying warm beverages from the Cafes.nThe music being played throughout the Garden is festive. The Light Show outside of the Conservatory runs every 5 mins.nnMy children enjoyed exploring the Garden at night and of course they enjoyed warming their hands at the Fire Pit, watching the train show, warming up inside the Conservatory and playing in the Children's Garden. It was a nice experience.nnI was glad it was open on Christmas Eve until 10p. It gave us an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. And the busy streets filled with drivers doing last minute holiday shopping.
