I love the fact that they are very patriotic in this school, and not like many of the schools in Anchorage who are OVERLY liberal.nnThe students are expected to show a lot of responsibility both inside the classroom as well as their homework assignments. I wish the children were able to make up their homework in middle school when they miss class.nI think it's a great school, but does seem pretty unforgiving at times. The pace is extremely fast.nnIn order for your child to be accepted, they have to enter a lottery and are later selected or rejected.nnA side note: The parking here is terrible during the morning hours when you want to drop your child off. Picking them up after school is no picnic either, as it's pretty much combat driving and parking. I have arrived many times on time, but my child has been late because the parking was so terrible. Add snow into the mix, and I think it just adds unnecessary stress. It's not really the school's fault, and I'm sure they would build additional parking if they had room. It's just a testament of how popular the school is.nnOften the drivers are very courteous and let you in, and the school staff does a really good job in navigating traffic and keeping the children safe.nnSchool starts at 8:05am for middle school and gets out at 2:45pm
