Long time Anchorage eatery deserves our support during these troubled times
I enjoy coming here. I used to bring my daughter to this diner when we'd drive into Anchorage, but she's out of state at the moment. It's cozy and the staff are friendly. I love their rhubarb pie. They ask that you sign in so they can keep a record (cause of covid-19). I would recommend you stop by and check them out. :)
The exterior of the building is fairly shabby, but the inside is clean and welcoming. The service was friendly and quick, and the food was excellent. The pies are pretty well-known and deserve their great reputation.
Great hometown cafe experience. Fun to go just relax and enjoy a meal or have coffee.
Pie, loosely wrapped in Saran wrap, was taken out of a darkened Coke cooler by waitress. She brought two slices out to my friend and I and said, “I warmed it up for you.” It was cold in the center. Peggy’s may have been famous for pies, but I suspect that was probably decades ago.
