Good place to workout and swim. Careful about COVID prevention.

An Athletic Club for the hotel guests and the downtown locals.nnThe Hotel Captain Cook Athletic Club is a great amenity for the Hotel Captain Cook guests, but the inefficient use of space limits the variety of equipment. The corridors create a boarder between the men's and women's areas of the Athletic Club. There's a room that both men and women can workout together, but the selection and condition of equipment is pathetic.nnThe men's locker room is very nice looking with wood lockers, however the locker room is too large; nearly half the size of the men's entire workout area. There is a sauna and steam room, but on my last visit a member complained that one of these rooms had been closed for repair for over a month.nnThankfully there is much more than workout rooms here, such as a small swimming pool and hot tub. You can also get a back massage here too. The restroom has everything you need to style your hair or remove the unwanted hair. The lounge is also very comfortable with a TV and seating.nnThe Hotel Captain Cook Athletic Club is fine for their hotel guests, but if you're looking for more variety and modern equipment then you may want to look elsewhere.nnIf this review was helpful please click the Like button.

My favorite athletic club in town! This is always a quieter athletic club where you can relax and enjoy yourselves. The employees are super friendly and helpful. This is one of the most cleanest athletic club I've visited. The price for athletic membership is a bit high, BUT there are no gimmicks and it is WORTH every penny! You will not be disappointed.

$15 for access all day... worth it! Killer massages by Carl. The base of my skull was sore for 5 days afterward... you might have to ask him to lighten up. I needed it.

We stayed at the hotel for the night which allowed us to use the Athletic club. My wife, daughter and I went in for a swim, which was nice as the pool was fairly shallow and my daughter enjoyed. Only downside to that is that mens and woman changerooms are very far apart (opposite sides of the hotel) making coordinating difficult.nAfter our swim we got to enjoy the steam rooms and saunas. Staff was excellent, and the facilities were amazing. The steam room was hot and very steamy, really cleared my head. The sauna was superb with very comfortable chairs and excellent reading material to relax. The only downside to the steam/sauna is that the floors were INCREDIBLY hot (I burned the soles of my feet) so I suggest slippers or a wet towel to walk on. Overall fantastic experience, I dream of going back.
