Honolua Park

Trail head starts right off the highway with two small lots for parking. The beach is really rocky but been told by locals that there is some amazing snorkeling here due to the sanctuary in place. However, there was a fatal shark attack and other sharks seen. So don't be discouraged but listen to locals and pay attention

Were unaware that it was a burial ground before entering. That changed the tone of our visit. Regardless, it was a beautiful walk to the ocean and back.

We love this hike. It leads you to the best snorkeling Maui.

The walk to the Bay has a old growth jungle feel, (awesome). There's usually a local guy that rents snorkeling equipment to visitors. The Bay entrance has a lot of large round rock. Careful it is slippery getting into the water. If the steam is running there is usually a brown tea looking layer near where the stream enters the bay. I recommend seeing the bay from the road above.
