This unique and historic motel is one of the few places I have been where owners do not ask for your driver's license. Very conscientious and friendly owner Mr. Russ who gave me a corporate discount for my stay as a traveler to work at a local community hospital on the Thanksgiving day, said Thanks for helping them out. As a solo traveler, I usually cannot get sleep in a new environment, but I was able to sleep tight because I felt welcomed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower is very clean. Towels are fluffy so what more can you ask for. I loved a heated fan on the bathroom ceiling.nnThank you. I would stay in this motel again.
This place is rustic. Authentic, original, restored, historic, just about like is was maybe 80 years ago. I think the original building might be older and the only evidence of much newer technology is a hole drilled through the wall in the room where a cable is ran through for the dish network TV. Many rooms do not have their own bathroom, toilet, or shower. These rooms do kind of have a sink. Now I am rating this place 4 stars because there are people who won't mind that the floors creak and that the train is 100 decibels outside the windows. It is very charming and is really well kept considering how old it is. The lobby is very welcoming and full of nostalgia and historic photos and stuff. They charge a very fair price for a night and I think they know their strengths and weaknesses. It's clean and functional.
Built in 1902 this grand dame is unique. Warm, cozy, clean. Full of antiques & Christmas cheer. Owners are hands on & full of information.
Appart from the promise of a pet friendly hotel, we almost lost an animal here. We fully disclosed bringing our cats, and were put in a large room that appeared nice- there were a lot of problems, a vent that fell through the floor, with beer cans and trash inside- and a hastily built counter with a side pannel 3ft by 3ft completely missing and unnoticeable without further inspection . Our cat crawled inside the missing panel and into the ventilation system...they could offer no help (yes it was 9pm) but aside from being worried- offered nothing. We ultimately got our cat back...through the dirty vent that went into the floor. But if a 15lb cat can almost go missing, crawling through the vent- i can't recommend it. Its a wonder rats havent gotten in through this huge gap.
Ole western stylenDon't pull up near bar close!
