If you’re looking for a quieter alternative to Honeysuckle Campground over on Lost Mines, this is it. Small and intimate, it’s a fantastic place to take the family midweek and get away without leaving the state. Also close to Fern and Shadow Falls which is a great hot summer day hike. Just like Big Hank up the road, no light pollution. Astrophotographers and stargazing alike can truly enjoy that increasingly rarity; a dark night sky in all its natural splendor.

We loved this campground with an attendant on duty to make sure nobody misbehaved! Close to the river! Each camping spot had a nice fire pit with wood! The big trees helped protect us from the strong winds! Highly recommend! We were in a 28’ trailer which was easy to park on the provided pad!

July 30 to August 2...hot in the mid morning to afternoon. Muggy in the afternoon to evening. Not much breeze. But river was the escape to enjoying the hot weather. River is very low, all run off done, kind of easy to float, or just sit in chairs, there was a swimming hole, to cool off about 6-7 ft deep. Campground was very clean, camp host very nice, small campground. Beautiful drive from 1-90, following cda river. About 30-40 minute drive from freeway. Would def stay again , but maybe earlier in tear, not as hot out.

Great campground, we really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful area with easy access to the river. The hosts are very friendly and the restrooms are clean/very well maintained. Will definitely be back.

Camp host makes up rules and will double book sites. We left only firewood and a paid slip at our site from 9am to 6pm on a Saturday. When we got back the camp the host had resold our spot and blamed us for not leaving more stuff behind. I thought leaving $20 behind was sufficient, but like I said there are made up rules here. In a few nights there we learned he allows his buddies to stay over the 14 day limit, and will claim a first come first serve spots before giving the current occupants the option to stay.
