Don't let the antiquated-looking website fool you, this is by far the most comprehensive selection of cross stitch fabrics, threads, patterns and notions on the Internet (or in person, as far as I can tell). They have great features like a wish list, email notifications and currency conversion. If you need help picking materials for a particular project, their staff are rather quick to respond and give sound advice. Shipping to Canada is very affordable ($5USD), but keep in mind that they use a third party company to ship to Canada which can take 3-4 weeks per order.

I was looking for a pattern at the last minute to take on a trip with me and couldn't find it other places. Someone pointed me to 1-2-3. I called with my fingers crossed and talked with Andrea. She was incredible and so helpful and kind!! I was very impressed! She located the pattern, wrote it up and let me pick it up 2 hours later. What GREAT SERVICE!
