This was a fun experience! I went during the daytime, and there were great views of Lake Tahoe along with the option to get food and drinks. My only complaint is the line situation for drinks/food. I waited in line for about 30 minutes and ended up missing memorable sightseeing, hence the point of the cruise. I completely understand that being on a small cruise with limited open space, it's hard to control a line that ends up wrapping around the whole dining room. And yes, there are plenty of windows within the dining space (Although in my case, every table alongside the windows were occupied and the amount of people in line blocked any possible view of said windows.) However, I do feel that there can be control over limiting the capacity for future events to prevent occurrences like this. It's just disappointing when you thoroughly want to enjoy what you paid for, but can't get the experience that should be provided due to overcrowding. Other than that, staff was extremely friendly and the sights that I did see were beautiful! I would go on this cruise again, but wouldn't bother getting food or drinks.
What an amazing experience! We did the dinner cruise and it was so much fun. We had a fabulous dinner and then enjoyed drinks, music, and amazing views. The band is amazing and the service is great. Worth the money!
We had an amazing time aboard The Miss Dixie II!! The staff was very personable and helpful. Love that they offer food and drinks on board! I tried the Emerald Bay drink, it was GOOD! The tour of Emerald Bay and Fanet Island was beautiful!! Don't forget to bring a jacket during the ride.
When we made reservations for our cruise aboard the MS Dixie II, the forecast was for cold temperatures and rain. When the day arrived, it was sunny and calm with pleasant temperatures. The boat was fuller than I expected. For the first leg (to Emerald Bay), we found seats in the restaurant and enjoyed the views. For the return (to Zephyr Cove) we found seats along the rail on the top deck. We basked in the sun and enjoyed the cruise on the lake.
Amazing views and great historical facts about the lake and it's origin. The mid day cruise on the MS DIXIE II was one for the books, super relaxing, especially up on the 3rd deck. Head to the gift shop where you can see the paddle wheel in FULL ACTION (something the kids will enjoy!) The drinks were meh, so I wouldn't waste time on em. If you have reservations make sure you say your last name clearly and spell it out when checking in, otherwise the old sea dog may throw a bit of a fit. The only great customer service received here was the gift shop attendant and photographer. I want to try the night cruise, but I'd definitely do the mid day again just to relax
