Met the Sheriff by accident while driving thru town and getting confused about the speed limit. He definitely lived up to the town slogan - very friendly - clearly just wanting to keep the town safe. I felt bad for missing the signage and he was very understanding with us.

Over the years Eureka has been blessed with great Sherriffs. The current sheriff lives up to that history and does a good job, fair, a patriot.

I was traveling through Eureka on my way back to Alabama from 2 weeks of medical training with ARC workplace services in Sparks, Nv and met 2 of the finest deputies on night shift. They gave me a heads up about the windy road ahead of me on 50 and were very nice and helped to wake me up after a long day of work and driving afterwards. With their wonderful time they took out of their night, I was able to make it safely to Ely to get a room. These 2 prior Navy guys are the kindest deputies I have ever encountered.
