CDOT Rest Area: Shaw Creek

Started the morning early Friday from the Grand Canyon knowing there were plenty of stops available on our way to Colorado. After 18 hours of driving having found all the stops full, closed or posted no overnight parking I feared for my family. Thankfully we found this gem. Clean quiet and understanding of how dangerous sleepy driving can be, it was our home till day break. Wonderful experience. Safe. Clean. Not creepy at all!!! Thank you Shaw Creek!

Bathrooms were pretty clean. Pretty sure we were the only ones here for the night aside from the truck drivers so it was relatively quiet even with the traffic noise. Also amazing sunrise here although it Would be nice if there wasn’t a 12 hr limit sign. It’s a rest area. You should be able to take a break or sleep for as long as you need to safely get back on the road. So for that, 3 stars.

You will need to stop there . There aren't too many rest areas on highway 160 west . It is a small rest area but it was quiet . There's a limit on how long you can stay . It is a twelve hour limit .

Safe, very clean bathrooms, security cameras and well lit parking, great for an overnight nap on a long drive!
