Can’t find many good hiking spots near Providence, but this is one of them. There’s plenty of trails to explore, ranging in difficulty to accommodate all. There’s also a ton of overlooks with a great view of downtown Providence. I went here in the winter, and while it was nice that I was one of, if not the only person there, it was also quite icy in some spots. Can’t wait to check this place out once it warms up!

This place has a lot of great memories and I will cherish them forever. At one time it did say no dogs allowed until I took a chance and noticed other dogs were also there that was 16 years ago when I had my first golden retriever his name was Leo the first. Back then there were many jokes that big and small and that's nice old man that lived directly across the street from the small baseball field decided to make up a calendar of some of the dogs that would go there on a daily basis. My husband and I couldn't mention the word Park without Leo getting all excited because we spent every morning and afternoon there for the eight years that he lived and that was where we took him when we noticed that he was not acting attentively and thought something might be wrong, when we arrived he wasn't himself he didn't jump out of the van and go running around like he was still a little puppy, we went to PetSmart to see the vet where are we were told he had a seizure and the veterinarian called ahead to Ocean State that hospital in East Greenwich we weren't sure what was happening when we arrived they took him in immediately and after 10 minutes told us that he had a tumor growing out of the back of his head oh, we knew what we had to do shall we chat with him while he was given don't even the medication for euthanasia. A year later we had Leo II which by the way he is also 8 years now and thriving and also loves Neuticarnicut. He Loves the park just as much as his contract end so does my grandson Landon who is turning six in a few days and it was soon to become a family place for us all to meet up and run around and play and that includes my father-in-law Geno. Sadly after many years of fun and play there he passed away last December 21st 2019 of natural causes and we lost the heart and soul of our family. So we thought... Then I realized when one family member leaves another comes to step up and because I think because of his presence he holds this family together and that is Leo the second. We don't go there every single day like we used too, we're all getting a little bit old too... I know that I will be there with Leo on the 21st of December go say a prayer for Gino and then run around and play as usual. Maybe one day my grandson will take his children there to play and just maybe still have the dog that loves it as much as mine does.nn.
