This is a good National Historical Park. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. I drove here and parked in the site’s parking lot, which is near the visitor center and well maintained. I got out of my car and walked to the visitor center, which is about a minute walk away. I got to the visitor center, which is where the museum is. I went past the ranger desk in the visitor center and walked by a replica of the Wright Brother’s plane. I walked into a room which had exhibits about new inventions around the time when the Wright Brothers first flew. I then walked into another room with exhibits about the Wright Brother’s childhood and a replica of the grocery store that used to occupy the building that the museum is in. The grocery store replica had lots of canned food and cutouts of people wearing typical fashion of the time that the store was open, which was the late 1800s. After going through the grocery store I walked up to the second floor of the museum, which had exhibits about the history of parachutes. After looking at the exhibits about the history of parachutes, I walked out of the visitor center and went to a nearby building which was the Wright Brother’s workshop. It had some exhibits about innovation and engineering, but they weren’t as good as the exhibits in the visitor center. After I went to the Wright Brothers workshop, I walked back to my car and drove away, satisfied with my experience. I gave this National Historical Park five stars because it has nice exhibits that are very informative.

Our Ohio TuesDayTrips adventure was a Dayton History Trail. One of the stops was the site where the Dayton Aviation Heritage Trail begins its multi site experience. It is a National Park and the interpretive center is here. It is very well done as I visited last year. However, our stop this trip was because the Wright Brothers first business partnership was a printing operation at this site.

There is so much to see and learn. Our kids like ve the Jr. Ranger programs and the rangers at DAH NPS were attentive to every question we had. They make learning fun!

they only have the bike shop open, but it was really pretty good. our son was real interested in all the history of the bikes and a little bit of the airplane from the wright brothers. the main building was closed due to covid so check that out maybe call first she said it was supposed to open soon.

This was such a great little find, and a pivotal part of aviation history. After being to Kitty Hawk last summer, this was a meaningful visit to see where it all began for the Wright brothers. I can only imagine the travel necessary to get from Dayton to NC to test the Wright Flyer. This is about a 2-hour stop, including time for Junior Rangers to do their thing. Like most National Parks, the staff were incredible.
