First and foremost - this place is so clean. For a gym, its exceptionally clean. Even the holds are clean. Both members and staff leave the space better than they found it. The routes change frequently so you are never bored. There is something to climb for all skill levels - there are different types of holds and surfaces so there is always a way to build on skills whether you are just starting or more experienced. Being members only, the community they have built is full of kind, welcoming, open minded and supportive people. As a newer climber, I have seen both kids and adults learn in a friendly environment that cheers you on. You may walk in intimated but you will leave with friends. Or not if friends are not your thing, but at least it will be clean. Also the membership prices are very reasonable for the quality and 24 hour access. There is also a small weight lifting and cardio space which is an unexpected plus. The value is really incredible for what you get, and I feel like the owner Tony (who puts 110% of himself in this place) is constantly thinking of creative ways to keep improving the gym and membership experience.
Fantastic gym, stellar route setting, and I never have time to get bored of climbing because they're constantly changing routes. Super clean and fun facility, can't believe I never checked it out sooner. The 24 hour gym aspect is perfect for me, I have such a weird schedule. I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a solid bouldering gym with flexible hours, best bouldering gym in Columbus by far!
If you're looking for a climbing gym to train and you don't want to make a reservation days in advance then this is the place for you. Have been to the other commercial locations in Columbus which are just fine, but the 24/7 availability and tight knit community drew me to Kinetic. The owner is flexible and willing to meet at strange times to accommodate various schedules. Looking forward to continue my training here.
I moved to Columbus for school and was a member of a gym in Indiana. I searched Columbus for gyms and Kinetic caught my attention because it is LGBTQ friendly. I emailed the owner Tony and he willingly met with me at 5am to give me a personalized tour and key. I couldn't get my shoes on fast enough to climb these delightful walls. I now have a membership to a 24/7 gym and there is even free coffee with a full bar of sugary stuff to flavor it to this gay mans liking. I love my Starbucks but its cool to have caffeine right there. I'm in bouldering heaven.
I have climbed at Kenetic before and can say that is one of the great small gyms out there. The owner has built a very tight community vibe among his members. Climbers here really have input on how the gym is and the setting is amazing! A must stop if you climb and are anywhere close! Can't wait to get back there soon.
