Allen Shandler Recreation Area

I knew Allen, not well, but spent a couple of years in Hebrew School with himnat Sholem Aleichem School on Bainbridge and 208th st.back in the early 60's. He was a good guy. Remember how sad I was when he passed. He had a good sense of humor. I believe I played on those two baseball fields in the Shandler rec area the first week they were open in the mid 60's. Glad Allen is remembered this way.

Pros: Plenty of parking. Cons: Bathroom is far away and bring your own food and water. Nothing available.

You can BBQ, plenty of parking, and not crowded. Although people tend to leave their mess behind.

Hang out spot for young kids to blast their music and disrupt the kids trying to play baseball.
