Lived here for close to six years. Never knew there was any parks here to see and enjoy as a native of NYC.. Never explored the town what it has to offer. Always had to go to New York City on the train to use a park to get some air and walk around freely .

Great place to run or walk your dog or just go for a walk if you don’t want to drive too far. It’s pretty flat so it won’t tax most people. If you are looking for more of a nature experience there are some trails that hug the lake away from the Hutchinson River Parkway although no trail maps or trail signs. If you cross the bridge over exit ramp on South end you will be in the Nature Study woods which is similar but much less lake - there is a little lake that hugs the Hutchinson River Parkway which you can get to off the main trail south. I’ve seen many Blue Heron at different times. In the past I’ve seen a very wide range of wild life, but in the past few years it’s been mostly deer. I used to run in the morning before the sun came up with a headlamp and when I looked in the woods along the path I would see dozens of deer eyes staring back at me glowing blue - initially eerie but it became soothing - there is no danger if the deer are happy to stand there.

Amazing park! Great for a walk or a run. Beautiful scenery and wildlife especially in the summer. The trail is not dangerous however, in some areas it gets muddy when it rains, so be careful. Most people nornally use the main trail but there are some smaller trails that divert and eventually reconnects back later. There are multiple lakes and a stream that connects them which is great for photos. Overall this is a good park

Trail splits between roads so prepare for that if running
