This isn't to even review the actual school, I just wanted to let everyone know that this is a historical property. It was an all girls school in the sixties, and the riding instructor was harry d'layar, who was one of the best horseman of all time. The girls were kids of very wealthy people, and it was considered the best school in the country.

The Knox school provides an excellent learning environment. Teachers and administrators are very involved and supportive and create a great sense of community. Class size is very small where every student gets the attention they need and deserve. The equestrian program is excellent and unique. This has been a life changing experience for my daughter.

I’ll be clear of the bat, I don’t believe this is a two star establishment, but the ratings seem rigged. Especially since only parents of the students are writing the reviews and not the students. I was a former student who was unfortunately expelled. One great thing about this school is how they try and help you if your family has low income. Your children will be mixed with rich and poor, black and white, however they did not try and proactively make them friendly towards one another. Another problem this school has is it’s lack of authority, they’ve had several administrative changes in the past 3 years alone. But the same problems and outcomes occur. Another thing this school was bad at was trying to help suffering children, instead of trying to find out what was causing the problem and helping the student, after they have committed a major violation. They would be sent to a committee of teachers and mostly upper class students to pressure them and determine their punishment. The bolder and more confident you were in the meeting the worse it was (as expected, however you had no choice but to stand up for yourself in any case.). Also, their guidance counselor seemed untrustworthy and past their prime. This year had a manic advisory, which seemed to lean towards the basketball kids, and left other kids feeling left out or not bonding as much with the advisers leaving them to feel unworthy of a true teacher-student friendship. Hopefully things will change in the coming years, but the past couple years with rather on the weak side. The final note I wanted to hit on was the student community. Either fake and rich or poor and sly. These students smoked on campus, drank on campus, and disrespected others on a daily basis. I’ve seen this and I’ve tried to take part in stopping this suffering from occurring to others while I was there. Because seeing them in the same boat and me being a senior at the time I felt like I was their only hope. Some students could be helped and some couldn’t. Others brought in from rough neighborhoods just to play basketball for the school seemed to not be fully checked out, and for fun I’d see them gamble in the dorm rooms. They felt like they were better then everybody else. Not going to lie, this lost me a couple dollars trying to fit in. But the only reason this school shouldn’t be 2 star is their excellent teachers. They are soul reason so many students are happy. They go the extra mile to help, hopefully next year they get everything straight. About 10+ teachers have been added and left on their own terms after 1-3 Years. Which is kinda ridiculous, the campus is small compared to others, not much to do in your free time (please fix this, maybe actually have a soccer game or basketball game based around fun and not skill), and lastly the only thing I’ve gotten out of going to the school were trust only a few and, the tart taste of the real world, and a darkened image of reality. Ultimately this is my criticism please fix this, and I'm sure you can find a great review from an alumni who graduated.

A gem on the north shore. Amazing educational opportunity. We have started the first of our 4 kids there and can't wait for the rest of our kids to be old enough to go. We've made as many friends as our son has and found a great home. It's awesome. Great sports, academics and social environment.

The Knox school is more than a school it’s a family. I’m going to start off by saying if you are looking for a school for you child please look into Knox becuse it was the best decision I made 4 years ago. 4 years ago I was heavily involved in the riding program here at Knox, but under the mat I was being bullied at my public school and very unconfident. When my parents chose to send me to Knox, it changed my life. Soon I met friends who had the same interest as me, I finally had a voice. Knox taught me how to grow out of my comfort zone, they taught me how to live and learn. Being a senior and just graduating last week I have been sad to leave. I’ve never felt so sad about parting from somewhere then I felt leaving Knox to start my college journey. Knox is a place you will never find anywhere else from the staff, to the students to the admin. They teach you how to be respectful and kind. You will never experience a school as amazing as Knox. Knox is one of a kind and just writing this review makes me reminisce about the amazing and life long memories I have made at this wonderful school. lastly, the traditions that you will partake in are so special. Most of the traditions at Knox have been annual for more than 50 years. Knox is not another private school, knox is one of a kind. Consider Knox as your child’s next journey, you won’t regret it.
