It's fun there, some of the teachers are really nice and actually care about their students while some don't. The food could be better though. And resources to educate the students could be better. That school needs better funding in order to connect with the students. It's gets treated like trash, when the education department could give them more money to do more stuff and get new uniforms for the sports that are there.nnBasically it's not fair that the department of education wants to treat the school like trash but make all the other schools look good. The teachers actually want to have better things for their students, like newer computers and laptops. They need that.

My daughter is a freshman and she's had a very good first year! She'll be in IB courses next year which is a great opportunity for her. I'm very happy that her academic experience and options aren't limited by where the school is located.

Good education, variety of classes, diverse teachers. I had my best years in this school. The teachers are respectable, and the staff actually care. You can't change the student attitude of course, but that goes with any school.

Despite a negative connotation from the neighboring districts, Schenectady High School can be a simply amazing place to learn, If you know where to find the available resources, rather than wallowing in the drug abuse, fighting, and other problems that this district is a home to. The student body is one of the most diverse and beautiful in the area, and is filled dedicated students who love their school, and for the most part the teachers are kind and attentive to student's needs. Plus, the variety of possible classes is amazing, along with wide selection of extracurriculars, highlights include the roots club and the ever wonderful blue roses theater company.(Not to mention the prestigious IB program the SHS is home to). Even with all of it's issues this school is severely underrated and a thoroughly wonderful place of education if you put in as much effort as you want to get out.
