The ice rink is a four seasons phenomenon. What do I mean? So let's start with winter ❄ufe0f which in Syracuse goes from November till March. The ice rink is where it's at for, well, ice skating. If you don't mind the outdoors then this your spot. Especially during Christmas ⛄ud83cudf84, the tree is lit music play, it's like a Hallmark card. After the holidays it's a best kept secret for those in the know about ice skating. Rentals are cheap and they have most foot sizes. Remember to bring cash...they don't do plastic. Kids hungry? They got a snack bar. Ok so here's where Clinton Square ice rink shines. Between end of March to may...the ice rink is broken down....this leaves the smooth surface for roller skating and skateboarding. Also, in the summer they fill it up with water and it serves as a cheep kiddie pool for the city residents. Best part is at night it's all lit up like a Christmas tree. It's not uncommon to find couples and families hanging out in the evening. Now for the bad. It is a public place so you may occasionally witness the local wino singing or possibly passed out on the park bench. Oh and also folks partaking in some muijuana. If urban living ain't your thing then I suggest avoiding. Otherwise, nothing beats a good hot summer evening chilling under the stars wading your feet in the fountain and listening the the splash of happy kids running and screaming with excitement.
bring your family because skating outside is an event we should all have cherished memories of. I was about 30 when I first tried it and will never forget the way the lights glisten on the ice in the darkness following sunset.
It was cold but I can not help walking around and taking in the old architecture, beautiful statues and artwork around Clinton square in Syracuse. They have the ice rink and beautiful Christmas tree with other Christmas decorations and store Windows decorated just like old times it's a beautiful and you never know what you're going to see ud83cudf84⛄ud83eudd70
