Great little covered bridge over the Housatonic. The summer has parking on both sides, winter parking is closed on one side and not well maintained on the other. Summer visits can offer lots of great exploring. Winter visits have a view all of their own, just stick to the trails as it can be dangerous to get to the waters edge.

I was passing through the area the other day and came across this bridge. I will be coming back in the semi-near future to explore the trails, but I did take a moment to go to the observation platform to take in the view of the merging rivers. If you arrive here via route 7, there is parking before you cross the bridge. Yes, you can drive across it, but there is no parking on that side of the bridge. The no parking side is where you need to go to take a short walk out to the observation platform where you can see the two rivers merge.nI will update after my return visit at which point I will hike the woods. This place is a real beauty! More to come in the future...nSide note; Someone from the area told me legend has it that George Washington crossed that bridge... I can not confirm or deny this.

Really great views. A nice place to park. Amazing connection of waterways. The day we came there was a lot of water being moved through the dam. It was very impressive!

Well made covered bridge. Road leads to several trail heads. Appalachian Trail SOBO into New York or if you just want to go to the border..NOBO you pick up the trail off a dirt frontage road.nIf you are section hiking starting in Kent and walking to Bulls Bridge is easier. The elevation gain is 2 mtns in 1st 1.5 miles. Then a few ups and downs but mostly boulder scrambling and side hilling. Happy Trails.
