Sheridan Bay Park

It was beautiful. We stopped because we needed a break from driving. It is not open for business. It appears they are trying to fix up a few things. The view of the lake was great though.

Closed because of Covid, but even if opened it would look abandoned!

Unfortunately I wish I could give this more than two stars, but this was a terrible experience. My fiance contacted the number for the park to obtain information on getting a possible seasonal site at this campground. The day before we came, after a gentleman contacted him, they made arrangements for us to come out between 5 and 5:30 pm on Thursday June 20th and look at the campground and have that gentleman tour us around and answer any questions that we might have about going seasonal there. We drove an hour from home, got there, and he was not there so we gave him some time by looking around the campground, exploring a little bit around the lake, and looking into the surrounding area to see what it had to offer. After doing this for well over an hour we still hadn't heard back from him, apart from receiving a text from him that he was at the store but would be leaving shortly. We went back to the campground and at this point it was after 7! Still, we waited and utilized the restrooms which were very very outdated and there were wood pallets on the floor of the shower. Usually, I wouldn't really care what condition the bathrooms were in if we were using our camper, but it appeared there were no full hookups anywhere in sight which left us with questions about how we would take care of our wastwater if we were there often. At 7:15 my fiance called and texted him and left a voicemail and his calls and texts never got returned that night. We left at about 7:25 and my fiance left him a text saying never mind and that we were leaving. We decided that, while the little bit of beach that the campground has was nice and it might have been an interesting experience trying seasonal camping for the first time since we never have and it was fairly low in price, there was no way we were going to go seasonal there after what happened. What if we needed to get our camper because we had plans to take it for a weekend somewhere? There was no way we would be able to rely on the people running the place to help us if we needed trailers moved around in the event that we decided to keep it there. Apart from all of that, the place was very very small and there really wasn't a whole lot to do in town. Perhaps it would be good for a weekender. As for us, unfortunately, this will be a never return.
