Seabra's Market

I wish I could give zero Stars. I know there was a reason that I didn't shop in the store, but since I was in the area waiting for some food I I figured I'd go here instead of waiting until later to go to ShopRite. I have an 11 month old baby that I was shopping with. I have not started putting him in a shopping cart yet because once I tried that he put his mouth on the handle so I keep him in his stroller when I shop. I put all of the groceries in the bottom basket of his stroller and proceeded to go to check out. I can see the security guard looking at me but I didn't say anything. As I get ready to pay for my items the cashier next to me says the next time you shop here you can't put your items in the bottom of the stroller. I said what what do you want me to do with them? She says you have to get a shopping cart. So you want me to push a shopping cart and a stroller. I understand them trying to make sure I took all of my items out of the bottom of the stroller but if you see me take everything out why would you feel it necessary to tell me the next time I cannot do that. I feel like I was targeted because I am black and I never felt more disrespected in my life. I told him they could cancel the entire order I will take my money someplace else. I will never shop there again.

Pretty decent ethnic market if you need Portuguese food. Solid bakery, legitimate sausages and meat goods, decent selection of fish and seafood.

This is the last time I’m shopping here. The security guy is so annoying and has no respect for customers. Employees are extremely rude to customers. I ended not buying anything because of that so called unprofessional security guard attitude

Very good.nIf you have a Mediterranean eating lifestyle the seabras supermarkets are a good choice. The one in Lafayette st in newark is the show case...nFrom the cod, to the leg of lamb, to the chicken raised in a farm .nThe butcher shop is always fresh then the fish market very fresh and a variety of european products .cheeses from around the world fresh veggies and fruits and dont forget on the way out the excellent portuguese bread and of course the chouriso.nWe love this place.
