Chatham Sandwich Shop

Same as always, the CSS delivers a solid sub. No fancy stuff here, just what you expect from a classic burbs deli. Whenever I pass through town I stop in and am magically transported back to high school. We used to come for lunch all the time then, and my favorite the Italian is just how it was back then. Hard to go wrong, prices are fair and the staff is still great.

Excellent sandwich! There’s seating available to dine in. They keep it clean and it has a nice atmosphere.

Great deli

Very frequent sandwich eater checking in. I ordered a large italian sandwich for carryout. The sandwich was soaking wet. The tomatoes were sliced like hockey pucks and had to be removed to eat the sandwich. The bread was too soft. The sandwich is described to include prosciutto along with salami, ham, and pepperoni, which explains the heavy price. My sandwich did not have a single piece of prosciutto and instead was packed heavy with lots of ham. This is not the first time I have seen this nor the first place. It is a seemingly intentional deception used by many shops to describe the sandwich as a higher value item and then leave out the expensive meat to pad profits. Two stars because the toppings and meat were fresh. An attempt was made at homemade pickles but they are too mushy at the seeds and tough at the skin.

Great little deli with generous portions of fresh meats and breads. I’ve stuck to the basic subs there so I can’t speak to the specials like sloppy Joe’s and such. But I always go back.
