One day, out of nowhere, I was apprehended by ICE and was placed in removal proceedings. I had to fight for an immigration bond and Gloria was very important in this process. She was able to convince the judge that I would show up for court and present my case. We did that. Even though I entered the U.S. with a visa, I overstayed for decades. I built a life here and just tried to do everything right. But sometimes you just get really unlucky. Now my daughter who is a U.S. citizen turned 21 years old and we were able to get my green card in the U.S. because she applied for me. I was really nervous before the court many times, but Gloria was professional and calm, and there is a reason that so many people hire her. She is a real professional. She was always prepared. After so many years of waiting, the judge gave me my green card. I cannot believe it. I can finally go back to Mexico and see my parents after all of these years. Thank you to Gabriela, Jack, Abby and to everyone else who helped me make this dream come true.

I want to thank Gloria Cardenas and everyone at Familia America for helping me obtain my green card in America. I came here with nothing from Honduras. I was able to seek asylum and Gloria represented me for a few years in immigration court. She filed so many documents to support my case and I was really scared. Gloria was really strong in front of the judge. But the judge agreed and I won my asylum case. I applied for my green card. My son and I just got it. I cannot believe it. I don’t know what I would have done without someone like Gloria. Her staff is really helpful and kind and always treated me with so much respect. I am so happy that my dream of coming to America and being safe from a horrible situation in Honduras has come true. Thank you.

I was referred to Gloria Cardenas by a friend that had previously worked with her. Her law offices are in Utah, we are located in Chicago so it was a long distance partnership to bring my fiance to the United States on a K-1 Fiance Visa. Our application for the Visa was submitted in November of 2018, my fiance arrived into the United States in April 2019, we were married in May. Unbelievably, my partners Green Card was issued in November of 2019. The entire process from K-1 Visa to Green Card was less than one year. Jack Cabrera (legal assistant) was excellent to work with and was very informative and patient at explaining the steps of the process. I would recommend Gloria Cardenas and her staff to anyone looking for efficiency, organization and professionalism. Thank you to everyone that was involved in our process.

Looking back at our petition process, going to Familia America was the best decision we've made. Everyone at the firm was so helpful. As a gay couple in Utah, we were initially a little nervous going into a meeting with them, but Gloira and the staff were able to put us at ease very quickly, and they were so kind and respectful throughout the entire process. Paulina, the paralegal, was happy to answer my (millions of) questions when filling out the necessary paperwork. She was very patient and responded promptly. We were both so grateful that Gloria was present during our interview with the immigration officer, knowing that she is there advocating for us, it really helped calm our nerves. I definitely recommend everyone who's going through immigration to give Familia America a ring.
