There is no lower rating than 1 star or I would use it. My wife and I are 40 year customers of US Bank with multiple accounts. We went to purchase a new car and deposited funds into our US Bank checking account, from an Ameriprise estate trust account. 5 days after we made the deposit, we received a letter from US Bank telling us that our funds were seized and checks drawn against that deposit would not be honored. Meanwhile, we went to the car dealership and wrote them a check and drove off with their car. If anyone at US Bank had looked at our account they would have seen there was no problem. If we had a poor history, if we were chronic check bouncers, if we had opened the account recently, I could understand their reaction. As it is, they have succeeded in embarrassing us and causing the dealership unnecessary concern. I will be closing all my accounts with US Bank as soon as humanly possible and moving to Minnwest Bank where they know me when I walk through the door and give a damn about having my business. If US Bank is so big that they could not have taken a few minutes to call me and prevent this from happening, then they CERTAINLY are not going to miss my business after I am gone!
