Reticent, ineffective, I'll prepared, mostly silent, lacking interest, rarely extending any effort, and giving only a perfunctory performance. Remained soley focused on the parens patriae powers of the state and completely overlooked the deprivation of freedom involved in the proceedings. Lacks knowledge into the conditions in whitch the institutional psychiatrist make there diagnosis and predictions psychiatrist in institutional settings are only able to spend minimal time with there patients. Moreover there examinations tend to be brief and they rely heavily on staff members reports of others to form there diagnosis. Thus , haveing minimal time to investigate the petitioners allegations psychiatrist trust the truth and accuracy of those allegations and use them in making recommendations to the court attorneys such as this law office who rely on psychiatrist are thus relying on opinions based on hearsay. If the right to counsel is to have any meaning in due process protection in civil commitment counsel must do a throughll investigation of allegations in the petition and the physicians report. The law office of Michael T Edwards and I had a disagreement in trial strategy and this led to the dismissal of the law office of Michael T Edwards.
