If you are looking to experience yoga in it's purest form, taught by someone who really lives what they teach, this is it. Matthews understanding of his practice and his ability to share it safely and skillfully is unparalleled in my experience. My experience includes personally knowing most yoga studio owners and popular instructors in SE, MI having myself put on over 250 movement (not yoga) workshops here in the past 6 years. If Yoga is meaningful to your life, I highly recommend experiencing Matthews studio as part of your practice.

I can't describe how this practice has helped me. I have tried many yoga studios, but this place is different. It incorporates a very traditional approach, having a daily Ashtanga practice with no music, just your breath! My teacher Matthew Darling is so awesome. He has been practicing for a very long time now.He is very intuitive, supportive, and patient. I love this place and my fellow yogis.

I started driving to Royal Oak from Ann Arbor 3 years ago to practice at Ashtanga Michigan. I remember not being certain how often I was going to try to come at first. Now I’m there 5 days a week. The community is wonderful! Matthew is a fantastic person/ teacher, incredibly knowledgeable, and a super supportive person. I feel very blessed to practice with him and be his student!
