Tesla faces an uphill battle getting established in the stomping grounds of the Big 3. The Tesla Service center has made it much easier to own a Tesla. Their service is great. Always on time. They are always friendly. I am not a fan of the 1800 number and their online service can keep you in circles. But get to the team at the service center and rest easy. They take care of you and make you decide to get a second Tesla.... Like we did...

Nonstop issues, setbacks, misinformation lies, and carelessness with this service center since the day I first picked up my car. The gallery workers are great, to be clear. The service center members and manager Cody have horrible communication, are repeatedly rude, careless and unknowledgable, issue dirty loaners and return your car dirtier, lie to customers, then threaten to slap on extra fees. This is consistent repeated behavior over nearly a year. 0 type of accountability or customer compensation for horrendous treatment time and time again. Makes a huge Tesla advocate very open to switching cars to a different make of electric vehicle soon! Absolute pathetic nightmare.

Dropped a Model 3 off to get the autopilot computer upgraded. Amazing service and I was given a performance Model S to enjoy while they had my car! I never had to interact with a single person or enter the building.nnWhile the Tesla mobile service team is great too, I'm very thankful for a Tesla service center in Michigan.

Always outstanding service. I hydroplaned over a puddle when it was raining one night and destroyed a computer that was $8000 apparently but tesla service fixed it right away no questions asked & not a dollar out of my pocket. I’ve had mobile service come to my house multiple times for my car and my brothers car and they never failed to fix the issues we were having. Truly the best car company in the world They give me basically any loaner I wish whenever my car is in for service so that’s pretty awesome!

I’ll never buy another Tesla after the service experience I’ve had. Before diving into my issue, I just want to say Alec was really helpful on my last visit but my review is based on my overall experience with this service center.nnI was having MCU1 problems in my Model S last November. The mcu was shutting down completely at random for 20+ minutes at a time. There were several occasions I went somewhere with my Wife and kids only to come back out to our car and it wouldn’t boot up. This made the car unsafe to drive as you couldn’t even activate the hvac to clear the windows, couldn’t use the rear camera, etc. I initially had a mobile tech come out to take a look at the issue and was told I would need to go into the service center to get it resolved. The mobile tech was able to verify the issue when he was on site and I also had multiple videos, which I sent to the service center, proving what was happening.nnAfter the service center checks out my car it’s determined that there is no fix currently for the issue I’m having besides upgrading to MCU2. They tried to tell me that this wasn’t a safety issue and that the car is drivable. While technically true I could shift the car into drive, the car was NOT safe to drive for the reasons I mentioned earlier. And more importantly, in what world is it NORMAL for the touch screen to randomly reboot, taking 20 min+ at a time, in an 80k car!? After some back and forth I agreed to let them do the upgrade as I didn’t feel safe sending my Wife and kids out on the road in a car having these issues.nnSince that time, Tesla was FORCED to do a recall on this specific issue, fix the vehicles with bad MCU’s, AND reimburse those who had to pay out of pocket for a repair. That should be me right? Wrong! I spent 3 weeks trying to get ahold of the manager at this service center. I called repeatedly and was given a different excuse every time. Finally I had to stop by in person for a separate issue and asked to speak to a manager. “We don’t have a manager at this location currently. The manager helping out here is in Cleveland usually but I’ll have them call you, don’t worry.” Nobody called me. I stop by the next day and they apparently forgot to tell anyone, “Oh sorry, I’ll go call that manager right now and have them call you!” Nobody calls me again. Finally today I was able to get ahold of Cody (thanks to Alec, nobody else helped). Cody explained to me that even though I paid to fix the issue the recall is supposed to fix, my emmc chip is different than the one covered in the recall so I’m not eligible for reimbursement. HUH!?nnWhat I was basically told is that it’s NORMAL for my cars touchscreen to completely go black at random times and not reset. And that I did the MCU upgrade voluntarily, which is untrue. I didn’t even know the MCU upgrade existed until they told me it was the fix for this issue. Oh and want to know the best part? The manager, Cody, was on site the entire time I was there and apparently the employee who told me he wasn’t lied to me. Even he had no explanation for why someone would tell me that. So if they tell you theres no manager there, don’t believe them.nnSo there you have it, that’s how Tesla conned me into spending $2,000+ to fix my car that is under warranty for a RECALL issue and then weaseled out of the reimbursement because my chip has a different part #. By far the worst experience I’ve had in my life servicing a vehicle. You’ve been warned!
