Very small park in a once good side of town. This place is cool for the fact that there is a plaque with information on the formation of the Republican party. Jackson, along with a few other cities claim to be the birthplace. I myself do not know which place actually does own that right, but I always thought that it was a neat bit of Jackson's history. Other than the plaque there is a very small but well kept lawn, a couple boulders, and a bench.

Very nice park marking a humbling historic event in our nation's history

Nice place to read not really kid friendly

Very cool local history. Jackson was a hot bed for anti-slavery activism and ultimately had the first official Republican meeting.

To have a picnic or just hang out with friends you should also be aware that and be bus line runs next to under The oaks so you are likely to pick up your child from school here if you live in the area.
