This was by far my worst dealership experience ever and I was 53 at the time of the sale so I had dealt with a lot of dealerships over my lifetime. Would love to give them a zero star buy can't. They were fantastic until the sale was complete and then horrible after that. Looked at two different trucks. One had the check engine light on upon startup. The second came on during a test drive. Was told they would correct the problem. Spent about three months getting anywhere with them on this issue and then had the audacity to claim the fault in getting it fixed was a local mechanic they sub contracted with. He was very good and was not the issue. It was Hawkins. I finally got the part all on my own that needed replaced, which they said they could not get, and had it put on myself by a mechanic. Hawkins paid the installation fee and that was all. Beware of this place as they are far from respectable.
In March of 2020, Hawkins Motors sold me a 2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty Reg. cab, long bed truck. I went to pick the truck up as I live 6 hours away. I drove it around the block and didn't notice anything odd except the turn signal had a fast blinker but there was no bulbs out in any lights. I asked Hawkins Motors about it and they said they would have their tech look at it. While I did paperwork the tech came in and said it was all done.nnI took possession of the truck and began the long trip home. After about an hour on the road driving home, I noticed the dash lights started to dim and brighten. Later in the drive, I noticed my cell phone wasn't charging and discovered the charging outlet was fully rusted...both of them.nnI stopped to inspect closer, and ultimately found a water line around the truck at the top of the dash around the cab of the truck. It was apparent this was a flood truck. I was too far away and it was too late in the afternoon to try to take it back as they were already closed.nnThe following Monday, I took the truck to two (2) highly respected auto body shops, and to two (2) respected auto dealerships. I did not disclose my findings to any of the estimators looking over the truck. All four (4) said that it appeared the truck had a significant amount of water damage.nnI contacted Hawkins Motors to discuss the issue as it is illegal to sell a flood vehicle without disclosing it. I explained that since I picked up the truck almost all the electrical had gone out. I asked Hawkins Motors to make this situation right as it had only been a week.nnMr. Hawkins took an extremely long time to get back to me, but finally told me he didn't believe it to be a flood truck, that the Carfax doesn't show it to be a flood truck... so he doesn't believe me that it is a flood truck. He said he sold it to me as is, and there was nothing he would do from me. Upon this response I contacted the local BBB and Mr. Hawkins stood his ground that he would not do anything to help with the flood truck.nnI have now been losing income for my business while spending over $2,000 already with a local mechanic trying to get it street legal. Mr. Hawkins is reaping the benefits of conning a small business owner into buying an flood truck. Buyer Beware!!
Jim McCormick is the man to talk to at this fine establishment I look forward to buying more vehicles from this fine gentleman.
The dealer who handles our purchase was very dry and made it seem like he was giving our van to us. We purchased a 2010 town and country with just over 109,000 miles. At First they were willing to fix a couple issues the van had a cracked windshield and a noise in the rear. They fixed them okay great thank you. Then I asked why they didn’t fix the tire pressure sensor they ball faced lied and said it’s probably just one sensor bad and they would replace it. Nope never happened. Then come to find out when I replaced the tires they had removed the sensors to save money. I was told that’s not legal to sell a vehicle without them. Moving on two days after purchase I’m driving to the local veggie market I pull out of my drive way and I experienced what they call a failure to up shift and was dead on the side of the road it was one of the hottest days of the year just over 103 degrees it would not shift at all mind you I’m 7 months pregnant and had my other 2 babies in the car. I turn the car off to try and reset the computer thank god it worked. I call the dealer okay bring and we will have our service department look at it. Their response oh it happens we can’t help you. Three weeks later I’m losing radiator fluid. Call them sorry we don’t sell perfect vehicles and we can’t tell if there will be problems once you drive it off the lot you own it. Take it to my mechanic rear manifold gasket. Replaced it for $1200 dollars. Drive it just over 100 miles and it blew up. I didn’t even get to bring my daughter home in our family vehicle. I paid 10,500 for this van with the loan on top of that $1200 for the gasket and then for a brand new crate motor to be installed with a 100000 mile warranty $5400 I had them put new oil pump and belts tune up etc. $650 dollars in rebuilding the suspension because every thing was breaking and old and needed to be replaced. They call me to ask me about my van and how my purchase was. Needless to say they will never call me again. Again I’m sorry mam we can’t help you and we can’t determine how long a vehicle will last. So long story short I will never recommend their dealership I will continue to tell everyone and anyone who ask me or says they might go their how I was treated and the horrible experience I had.
My husband bought a 2010 Ford platinum back in July they were willing to fix a couple of issues. Said they were going to fix the sunroof and was in the shop for a few days, still not fixed. Promised a hub cover, still don't have it.nIt has been in the shop multiple times since then. $3,000 later. Buyer beware!!! They buy flood victims ..Just an aweful company!
