Roberts Landing Campground

Small but cute campground! We only stayed overnight, it’s definitely perfect for a weekend getaway. Super friendly management! Ryan took my husband on the golf cart for a small tour of the grounds, where we were staying close and explained operations. Beautiful view of Lake Huron, view of Mackinaw Island and Mackinac Bridge! Definitely would stay here again! Loved it!

This could be a hidden gem on the banks of Lake Huron, but this quaint campground needs a lot of TLC. Manager wasn’t very friendly,actually, kind of creepy.He definitely seems to be a unhappy person with different statements he made. He never told us about the amenities ( few ) other than the dump station which needs more turning space . Manager told me a new owner bought this campground ... he needs to put some money into it to maintain grass; new picnic tables, which are dirty and rotting; clean up the office to be presentable to guests - dirty, disorganized; hire some great workampers with a smile to greet you and welcome you, and assist in making this campground appealing. The only thing saving this place is it’s location.

This place is way over priced!! We paid 105.00 per night!!! We didn’t even pay that much in Traverse City!! We reserved a pull through site and full hook up, arrived to neither. Website is VERY misleading. Tried to call and actually talk to the manager and it always went directly to a voice mail that had a “full mailbox”, texted him and responded right back but wouldn’t answer the phone! Manager was more interested in entertaining his own friends than taking care of the visitors. He stated he was really busy but saw him at the “beach” on his jet ski throwing waves at people in the water. Drove his golf cart around like a speed racer. Way overbooked and no beach access because he booked people in tent almost in top of each other on the access area. We wouldn’t ever recommend this place to anyone!!

After looking at the reviews I was excited to book my mini vacation here. Was told we would have our own campsite with fire pit and picnic table. When we got there it was perfect, we had our own site pretty close to the water. Once we got everything set up we ran to the store for a few things that were left behind. When we came back just over an hour later there was a tent just behind and to the left us. Not a huge deal until later that evening another tent got set up right behind us close enough that they were tripping over our guy lines while setting up. The two tents were close enough that we could not even use our fire pit, not to mention that we were slowly running out of room for vehicles. We left for the day on Saturday and when we came back to make dinner there were two more tents set up in front and to the right of us with one of the vehicles parked right in front of our tent. Decided to pack up and leave after that, talked to the guy running the campground and he said that the owner just kept telling him to put people wherever he could fit them. Even put multiple people on the top of a septic field. When I told him I was leaving he did at least offer to try and move us but at that point I was fed up and we booked a hotel. Was told I would get a refund for at least one night and as of this post I haven't seen/heard anything about a refund. I was supposed to be there from 7/10 - 7/13 ended up leaving after one night. One photo is when we first got there and the other two are on Saturday after we got back. There was another couple who left on Friday night for the same reason, everyone was packed in super tight.

I had the WORST experience at this campground. When I went to check in, we waited 20 minutes (not an exaggeration) for the man running check ins to help us. He was already swearing and talking badly of another customer. He was overall rude and gave off an intimidating vibe as soon as we arrived. I had booked the campsite a few days before and received a confirmation email, and when checking in, he told me he didn’t approve it and we couldn’t stay. I’ve never heard anything more absurd and inconveniencing. Not only was he rude about it, but he was belittling. If he doesn’t want to have the issues, the website should be updated with clear instructions. Not only did all of this occur, but the campground was pathetic. We were willing to overlook this for the price, but with this horrible encounter, might as well add it.
