Wow. Very impressed with this site. First, you have to park about 200 yards through the woods. If you have a lot of stuff to carry in this might not be the spot for you. The alternative we used was to kayak some stuff over to the site because you have to park at the boat launch, it’s just a short paddle to the site. The site is set on a peninsula with an okay kayak launch. The site is a beautiful setting for camping with ample spots for tents. The lake surrounds you and makes for a unique experience. The site has good tree coverage although it get a good amount of direct sunlight midday. There is a picnic table and a fire pit with a grate. Fishing on the lake was decent, but we didn’t have a chance to explore the whole place. There is a toilet somewhere, but we didn’t find it. Lake can be busy with fisherman, but we were not bothered by it as the perimeter of the site is lined with trees so there is plenty of seclusion. Probably the best rustic site I’ve stayed at. 30 minutes from Munising/Pictured Rocks.
