If you've been on the water in the southern end of Mid Coast Maine, you've no doubt seen Seguin Island Light, but if you've never been there it's worth a visit.nEven during COVID you can explore the island, though you won't be able to go into the lighthouse. When thi gs returns to normal you can expect to find volunteer guides who will take you to the top for truly breathtaking views.nThere is a small mooring field at the foot of the path that will take you to the top. It's a steep climb, but the path is well maintained.
Excellent place, lots of history and cool stuff to experience. Nice camping areas, come to get away and experience true solitude for a few days!
Had an amazing day sail getting there. Great hiking and spectacular views. We swam from the back of the boat just outside of the cove. Bracingly cold, but totally refreshing in the summer sun. Caretaker/hosts were very knowledgeable about both the Lighthouse and the island.
This is truly a great place to visit. The lighthouse is really interesting and the view is spectacular. There are also trails around the island for hiking.
A visit to Seguin Island is a must for anyone cruising the Maine coast. Wonderful views, nice walking trails, and very welcoming caretakers. Great picnic spot!
