I love going to planet fitness, I can work out, tan, shower, and get a massage all at one place. It's not too expensive either! The staff is always friendly, and more than willing to answer any questions about any of the equipment.
I sent a letter, as outlined on their website, to cancel my membership in August 2020. I just realized it was never cancelled so I called to cancel over the phone today and request a refund. They said they never got the letter. Okay, no problem. I am currently quarantining due to living with someone that is positive with Covid. They said the only option is to mail another letter or come in in person. Come in person when I'm obligated to be quarantining? You want potentially sick people in your gym? I also don't have a printer at home (I always use Staples) so that's not an option either. If you can't cancel it over the phone (even temporarily until I'm out of quarantine), do you really want potentially infected people in your gym? Really disappointing foresight from this organization to not have any flexibility in their policies during a global pandemic.
For customers, Read your agreements. They have poor cancelation procedures/ policy. Lack of empathy towards customers. Poor customer service. Canceled my membership for the month of February, but I got billed for Feb! They said they can't give a refund because it was canceled after the 10th.. (who even knows that it should be canceled before the 10th?!?).. I told them that I haven't used my membership for months now, I deserve a refund for February at the least.
My first day back at the gym.. Clean and Cleaning supplies, Social distances and mask enforcement! A+
Negatives:nHorrible customer service when dealing with billing and/or canceling membership. The annual fee which all planet fitness' have is another downside.nnPositives:nClean environment, even when the place is packed.
