Fascinating area--fabulous shops, wonderful restaurants and lovely, little surprises at every turn. It's a 'must visit!'

Well, Portland Downtown, is also the Arts District! There is an array of shops, stores, galleries and even a Renys Dept store to browse through.nMany types of eateries, from Otto's Pizza to Pom's Thai. Definitely check Google Maps for locations and info.nIt's an easy walk from Downtown and Monument Square to the Old Port... with even more shopping and eating to experience. So much to see and do in the space of ten square blocks, I think it's perfect for tourists and visitors.nTake a few moments to set up an itinerary, see what's of interest or just cruise and walk around and be amazed at what this small City has in store.nTry going from downtown, to Munjoy Hill, a really great neighborhood to explore. Take the number one bus, it's a frugal way to go sightseeing... for $1.50. Then you can view the historic area, go to the Observatory, Overlook/Standpipe Park, the Eastern Promenade etc. and walk back downtown on a nice day.
