Pepper's Ridge Winery

You ever wish you didn’t waste your time going somewhere? .....this was that place. After our party was refused service we quickly left. Unless you regularly attend this joke of a winery and live in the immediate area you will be hassled when simply trying to stop in and buy a bottle. If it were possible to give a 0/5 I would. The bottle of wine we did buy to take with us was terrible. Do not go here! This place needs several employees fired for not following policy of wearing gloves or keeping the bathrooms clean for patrons. I will be going to Monkey Hollow from here on.

I would give this a 5 star but the slushies really brought it down to that 4 star rating. They have 2 slushie machines that make just the slush and then you ask for what wine you want put in it. This is a great idea BUT when you add the wine to the slush it melts it and just make it a normal drink and not a slushie. If they maybe had 8 more slushie machines and 4 of them that had the wine already in it and changed maybe the flavors every weekend that would make this a 5 star wine slushie place. Slushies are very popular with the younger crowd and on hot days.

The wine is okay but it doesn’t make up for the atmosphere. The customer service was NOT great. Some of the semi-sweets should be in the sweet wine category. They don’t have tasting options so you have to guess what you want the first time visiting.

There was no tasting allowed. The young girl behind the counter was rude. Seemed annoyed to have to answer our questions about the wines and slushy. If you won’t allow a tasting at least be prepared to discuss the flavors and aromas of the wine. At one time she answered with, “yeah, what about it.” No hello, welcome. Asked what we needed them shoved the list at ya and walked off. The one wine I tried was good. But the service and attitude was so bad that I won’t be back.

Customers beware! One member of our party, who is clearly over 21, was refused service by an extremely unpleasant bartender because his license was expired (and he couldn't renew because of state shutdown of DMV and grace period extension). *Last time I checked, your drivers license clearly shows date of birth and photo identification.* If you read other reviews for this place, you'll find many one star reviews and zero owner responses (as other local wineries have done). Seems to me if they cared about good customer service they would attempt to make ammends. The wait staff needs some good old fashioned manners training. Also, Black Friday deal was a joke! Hardly anyone there, and I see why.
