Red Geranium Restaurant

My wife and I have been coming to New Harmony for 13 years. I proposed to her at the Red Geranium restaurant. We love New Harmony and used to love the Red Geranium as well. It’s amazing how over the years this restaurant has gone down hill in service and Quality. We just stayed at the New Harmony inn which was awesome as usual. Ate lunch at the Yellow Tavern. Yum! Had dinner at the Red Geranium. Worst meal I’ve had in years. Service was slow. I got the seared scallops with noodles. Completely tasteless. I honestly would have enjoyed McDonald’s more. The best thing they could do would be to replace the chef. I’m telling you. I felt guilty paying as much as I did for such poor quality tasteless food.

Disappointed in the Red Geranium this past weekend. Started off hostess turned us away when we asked to sit outside for Patio Jams. She said, “Oh no. They’ve been booked for days.” Made us feel dumb and unwanted. Mind you there were lots of open tables. We ate here for dinner, bar carry out, and brunch. Food was subpar. Menu is kind of weird. My scalloped potatoes were burnt. Goat cheese appetizer was very good. The Grapevine menu is fine but food is horrible!! Wings were cold and dry. Quesadilla was greasy. Corn crab dip nothing special. Brunch was highly disappointing. Had Indiana Benedict. Dijon sauce was disgusting and tasted like yellow mustard. Our lady server at brunch was an absolute grouch. We sat outside and were eaten alive by the bugs. And the brunch menu has fajitas on it. Who the heck wants those at brunch?! I overheard a server say the cook quit and was leaving in a week. I hope their departure brings a better menu and food.

Love the Red Geranium. The food is good and they have delicious steaks in the house. A++

My wife and I married at the New Harmony Inn and our wedding was catered by Red Geranium. We've been coming back every year for our anniversary since. It just gets better and better every time we come back. This time I ordered the rack of lamb and she had roasted chicken. We tried the fried goat cheese for an appetizer and had the seasonal creme brulee flight (the pumpkin flavor was unbelievable) and some peach cobbler. All of it was absolutely phenomenal. Probably the best meal we've had all year!
