I ended up purchasing a vehicle from Gregory and wanted to pass along a few lessons learned from my experience. First, make sure you get everything in writing. I purchased a used vehicle and the sales person assured me that the remaining service plan carries over to the next owner. It turns out not be true as I found out the hard way when scheduling my first oil change (my fault for not doing my own research on this however in my defense, I had a momentary laps of trusting a car sales guy). Also, whether you are purchasing a new or used vehicle, be wary of the finance guy (or gal). They try and sell you a lot of stuff that sound great but that you really don't need especially the vehicle etching/loss prevention product. It's a complete rip off, little to no value to the buyer but the dealerships make a ton of money off of that product. Also, Gregory has a very silly policy of only giving you half a tank of gas if buying a used vehicle. I tried telling the sales guy that for an extra $20 that it would cost the dealership you could be creating a lot of customer good will however that fell on deaf ears. Finally, I got a nice note Greg Mauro, Owner of Gregory, asking me if I had a truly exceptional experience. I wrote back letting him know that my experience was sub par and would be happy to share the above with him. No one ever got back to me hence this post. The reason for the two stars and not one is that I got a good price on my vehicle.
Just leased my 2nd Genesis from Gregory in June, and it was super easy! There was no back and forth for hours, and in fact the whole process was under 1 hour. Exceptional work from the sales team here, and Jason was very knowledgeable about finding me the right car.
I was given quotes for both finance and leasing options, as I was not sure of which I would like to pursue. They were very knowledgeable about the current deals, and offered me different options based off of what features I needed, and my desired monthly payment.
Let me be clear I never leave bad reviews. This is the first on I've ever written.nnI purchased a 2003 Chevy Tahoe less than 10 days ago. I understand cosmetic and non essential components are unreasonable to ask be repaired for a 17 year old vehicle. However it has only 92000 miles on the odometer.nnBut not having driven it for even 50 miles off the lot I began to have misfires and rattling in the engine.nTaking it to a trusted mechanic I was told it had significant fuel leak (which is the #1 cause of car fires) and a bad tensioner.nI was told that cars are guaranteed to be safe coming off the lot and this seems like a huge oversight.nnWhen calling the dealership I was first told by the GM that we would want to wait at least 45 days to file a claim with the warranty company to imply the damage was done after purchase (which is not true and technically insurance fraud) when calling again and explaining it he backtracked and said that it wouldn't be covered anyway not being a powertrain component.nnStill falling under IL implied warranty I tried appealing to him to fix the car and save me an $1000 repair for a car bought, again, less than 10 days ago.nnStill not budging he offered a trade in which seems like a waste having already invested in numerous repairs already (ie brakes, side mirror oil change pulleys ect) or to pay for only half the repairs at their dealership at their price and on their own time.nnJohnathan Medez was excellent in sales. Very nice guy and I'm sure was unaware of the problems as he deferred to the mechanic for those questions.nnThis isn't some crazy guy making a bad review for no reason. I hate those people.nnThis just an honest assessment of what happened and I'll be happy to edit this if they fufill their obligation to a customer.
See Barry at Gregory Genesis for your next ride he is a mench!
