I came to see Superman and stayed to disc golf. I was not expecting to see this course on my through town but extremely glad I stopped for a round. Although many of the holes were long they were also technical making each shot a fun and new challenge. I enjoyed the different elevations and the small creek (if you can call it that) running through a few holes. The main map coupled with the individual tee markers made navigating the course fairly easy with a few instances of having to refer to a picture of the main map between some holes. The majority of leaves had fallen by the time I visited so I imagine this course is more beautiful in the summer. Course seemed in great shape otherwise. At the end of a round, be sure to check out the fort. I was not disappointed and hope to return even though it is over 6 hours of drive time for me.

It's probably a very nice park/fort, but it is not ready for campers. The office was closed at 11A on a Tuesday, had a difficult time finding the campground, and had no idea how to pay. Tried to phone but kept getting a busy signal. Also, a lot of the sites were flooded.

I used to come here when I was little with my parents and grandparents and play at park and ride bikes. AND now I bring my kids to play in the swings and run down the big hill and ride bikes. Good memories.

Amazed by the amount of history which took place on this site. I wish the State of Illinois would start taking better care of these historic sites like they did decades ago. Elections have consequences.

Nice stop to stretch legs. Clean bathrooms that can be accessed from the outside. Strange entrance.
