Turkey Bayou

This was our first stay here, also our first experience dry camping. It is a great place. Well kept and beautiful. Norm is the host and he was also great. We will definitely be back. Beautiful country all around.

Nice and clean, no nightly charge, at least at the end of September. Very beautiful area.nI gave it 4 stars because you need ear plugs to get some good sleep, as the trains are running constantly off in the distance.nI recommend Trail of Tears State Park over this place because it was much more secluded feeling and quite. Hope to check out Pine Hills campground soon, it is also further from the railroad tracks it looks like. Hey man, thank God for trains and the guys who run them, but it’s hard to sleep through that horn without earplugs, if you ask me.nnYou should definitely go to La Rue Pine Hills and Little Grand Canyon if you are in this area and you can. Also, that levy road by this campground is a super chill drive, just forest, river bottoms and bluffs around you. These forest are precious. Used to be 13.8 million acres of them, Shawnee is 289,000 acres now, so please urge lawmakers to plant trees and take care of the forest.

Pretty good place to stay a night. Bring everything you need. Just like you would camping in the wild.

beautiful place to stay. Lots of water around you. a portable bathroom, fire pits, tables and grass is maintained by the locals. a donation box and online donation link are available to those interested in donating to keep up with maintenance. Stayed here in may 2020

A great place to hang out for the weekend plenty of fishing hunting great for tents and campers there is a spring-fed water on 3 before you come in
