Dam West Recreation Campground

We really enjoy Dam West, personally. They keep the bathrooms pretty clean, the grounds are well maintained, and the folks who run it are super nice. Prices are reasonable for most sites, being only $18 a night with electric hookups and water very nearby almost every site. Most sites are shady enough that you can avoid direct sunlight in the hot hours, and the entire campground is very amenable to kids, biking, and walking. A lot of people bring their dogs, and the campground stays relatively quiet due to the number of rv campers hiding in their little steel air conditioned boxes. Overall, a great site, although very popular. You're allowed to make reservations up to 6 months in advance, and if you want a really good spot on the water, I recommend that, but if you're not picky and are willing to set up anywhere, this place is great. We haven't found a bad spot yet.

We have stayed at Dam West a couple of times this summer. We have found it to be very clean and well maintained. We feel extremely safe when we are camping in this area. The hosts deserve credit for this! I would highly recommend it!

Great campground. Nice staff. Some reservable sites..some first come first serve. We go every year to fish and visit with our other camping friends.

Had fun with the Grand kids Swimming while the guys played horseshoes!
