Went here last July our 1st visit, we are already making plans to take our granddaughter. Mom and dad are coming as well. They have an excellent playground, a great beach that wasn't crowded, and the campsites are very clean very lovable picnic tables and fire pits are a nice size. Definitely worth a visit we picked it out by closing in on Illinois and looking for blue I found it and zoomed in and Lake Carlyle has lots of camping and RV sites. The accessible RV sites were a generous size, close to the bathhouse, with full hookups.

I have been coming to this campground for over 15 years and I absolutely love it. There are great sites that are on the lake and not on the lake. The only negative is that you'll need to reserve a few months in advance because the spots fill up fast! The bathrooms are so clean and there is playgrounds for kids. All in all it's a great campground!
Very nice sights. Roomy. My only issue that people tend to ignore the leash rule which causes issues when people are walking their dogs on leashes. Then the other dogs that are not leashed come out and cause issues with the dog walkers. Since the camp host is supposed to be for emergency only, there is no one you can contact. I saw 2 altercations with dog not leashed running into the street and causing a ruckus with the walked dogs. Other than that, it's a beautiful campground and lake.
